A 7-course contemporary Japanese dining experience for groups of 3-8.

A unique pop-up private dining concept in Singapore, Rei allows one to experience Kappo-style Japanese cuisine created by Chef Benedict in a comfortable & private setting where one is free from the rigidity of a commercialized restaurant.

The Space

R E I is currently situated at Haru Black, an intimate and cosy space that has a reminiscence of home rather than a stiff restaurant setting, away from the hustle & bustle of city life.


With the chef-guest relationship at the forefront, an open kitchen allows for close interaction between Benedict and his guests over the counter.

The Menu

Freshly Shucked Oyster, lacto-fermented tomato water, dashi jelly & chives

Hokkaido Scallop Sashimi, kombu, pickled nashi pear, fermented plums, tobiko & shiso

Somen “Tsukemen”, black garlic tsuyu, ikura, spring onions, sesame & crispy seaweed

Chestnut & Eggplant Mousse, barley miso, koji yoghurt & coriander

Pulled Iberico, gyoza skin, ume ginger mayo, tobiko & purple corn powder

Flame-Seared Japanese A4 Wagyu (+16), crispy rice, togarashi, herb kewpie & nori

OR

Medium-Rare Salmon, kombu, ikura, tofu espuma & crispy seaweed on koshihikari rice

Black Sesame Mousse, macerated strawberries, yuzu jelly, chocolate poprocks & matcha

  • Rei is only available for bookings between Thursdays to Saturdays - dinner only.
